introdução / introduction
Olá. I’m Stacy Wayne (he/him/his). It’s like Mary-Jane but obviously less common. I’m a writer in many forms—some technical, some playful. No matter what words you need, I’ll find the right ones. Even if it takes a few rounds of espresso before I do.
trabalho / work
I believe in the power of collaboration, which means the best part about my work is learning who my clients are, meeting them where they are, and delivering what they want.
I spent many years as a jack-of-all-trades before obtaining a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State in marketing with a technical writing concentration. I live for the written word (just ask my third physical copy of the Chicago Manual of Style) and knew early on that I was born for a career in writing. Wherever words went, I followed, and that remains true to this day. I’m now pleased to offer copywriting, editing, workshopping, and proofreading services.
CV sumário / CV summary
For the past three years, I’ve worked at Powell’s Books where I’ve held a variety of positions in bookselling. My current position as a book buyer affords me opportunities to work in tandem with our marketing and editorial departments to draft book blurbs and blog content for our website and internal stakeholders. Throughout my employment history, I identified niches within my workplaces that allowed me to expand my writing capabilities, especially in regard to advertising and media content.
In addition to my work as a marketer and copywriter, I am a working fiction author and freelance editor. My debut short story, I LOVE YOU, LOLA! was featured in Mae Murray’s The Book of Queer Saints, Vol. 2 and I am actively on submission for other fiction. My latest WIP is a literary horror novel with themes of grief, patrilineal trauma, toxic masculinity, and saudade currently being workshopped with a local writing group.
I’m based in Portland, Oregon but am available to work remotely for longer consulting engagements. Get in touch with me to see what we can accomplish together.
